Wonder Women

The international Women's Day is celebrated once every year on March 8. This is a travesty, if you're a woman, you deserve to be celebrated every day of the week! But in a world that lobbies to drag you into one of two extremes (the oldest being sexism that positions you as a subservient creature that dwells in the kitchen and churns out babies by the dozen, and the youngest being feminism that lionizes you as a conceited goddess that ought to take charge now and take care later) the truth is easily a middle chil and lumped between these two ideals is the truth that you are a wonder, and you are a woman, God made you that way, and it is good.

Yet the world will not agree. The world has taken it upon itself to tell you who you should be, how you should dress, what careers to choose, and whom you should or shouldn't try to impress. But let's get back to the original blueprint shall we? In the beginning there was man and there was woman. But man fell and by and by it was sorta the woman's fault. So the traditionalists took this to mean that women are the cause of all problems, and therefore should be seen and not heard, which brought about the million- women have issues- slogans we have today (be honest guys, how many times have you heard Bob Marley wail in your head "No woman no cry").

But the traditionalists were mostly men, so naturally they were gonna spin the story in such a way that absolved them of folly. But let's look at what actually happened.

Genesis 3 vs 1: The serpent was clever, more clever than any wild animal God had made. He spoke to the Woman....STOP right there. The message translation of this passage gives us the opportunity to read between the lines. The writer here describes the serpent as being clever, in fact the most clever. If I make a statement that qualifies you as something, say  "you're a wonder woman..." and I don't stop there, inevitably the next string of words that follow will back up that statement i.e "you are a wonder woman, God made you that way..." It therefore suggests that the serpent was clever, more clever than any wild animal God had made (because) he spoke to the woman. Sitting down, hatching his evil plan of world domination, the devil decided it was the smartest choice to talk to you, woman. Even though it would take Adam eaten the forbidden fruit to corrupt mankind and not Eve, the devil chose you because to get to a man, you have to get to his woman. So if there's anything to take away from this story it is that you are highly powerful and influential, not 'because' of a man, but rather 'over' a man. So that basically debunks the whole traditionalist idea that you ought to get hitched to the highest bidder after school to have any worth. The power and influence is intrinsically yours, now whether you choose to exercise it over a king or a fool is up to you, but no matter your color, culture or creed, the man does not make the power and influence in you.

On the other side of the debate is that you are equal to the man and should assert this equality in every way imaginable. Only half of that statement is true and luckily, the Bible does not concern itself with being politically correct. 1 Peter 3 vs 7 acknowledges women as weaker vessels (but this does not speak to social class, rather to the physical, you're like fine china, precious, valuable but fragile). That is why women do not compete with men in the Olympics or any major sporting event for that matter, because the man has more testosterone, more energy. He is stronger, and there is absolutely no reason to contest with that. Do not let the world make you confuse political correctness with right and wrong. You are more beautiful than the man, you are also weaker on average physically, that is not sexist, that is science. You have two x chromosomes, he has one. So be everything that you can be and do not waste time being anything you're not.

In summary you are a wonder and you are a woman, and should be celebrated for just that. One upping the man is not what you were put here for, and in an age where you're asked to wear the males pants and he is allowed to wear your skirt, it has never been more pertinent that you be who you are, woman.
