LOVE AND ALL THINGS FAIRYTALE : SCARS#1

SCAR:
Noun- A permanent mark on the skin sometimes caused by the healing of a wound (English Dictionary- Offline).
Figuratively- A permanent transformation caused by a hurt.

Scars could be a result of a personal mistake or someone else's oversight. Sometimes, memories linger because they (scars) leave you with stories to tell.

On my left hand is a little scar from an accident I had about a month ago as a result of someone else's mistake. I was in a "Keke" (Tricycle), lost in thoughts of somethings I had to sort out. Suddenly I was jolted back to reality by an abrupt turn made by the "Keke" driver. What I saw was a car almost hitting the tricycle from my side and the tricycle turning over while in motion as I heard the crushing sound of glass and iron.

Thank God we all got out of the tricycle alive. However, the driver had a serious scratch on his left arm and was bleeding heavily. The lady who sat beside me had some serious scratches on her face and her fingers. I didn't notice any serious injury on the guy who sat at the right side of the tricycle. I sat on the left side of the tricycle, apparently, that was the side the tricycle landed on, I didn't realize I was injured till I got home.
Asides the injuries we sustained, some of our properties were lost too. The tricycle was badly damaged, the lady's metal watch broke, and my bag was torn.

What was the cause of the accident? The tricycle driver was trying to beat the traffic light that had already stopped him. Apparently, a car was coming from one side of the major junction and in a bid to avoid running into the car at full speed, the accident happened.

Scars leave us with stories to tell. They can be physical or emotional, sometimes a result of someone else's mistake; an abuse, a disappointment, a heart break, or a betrayal. Sometimes, like our properties got damaged in that accident, other things get damaged as a result of these mistakes. It could be your conscience, your esteem, or the life of people around you. And just like I didn't realize that I was injured till a bit later, sometimes we don't realize scars till a bit later.
