NF Releases New Track 'Green Lights'

Image
"Three records,  three years I don't like to waste time. " the impassioned rapper spits on his new track "Green Lights." Indeed it's only been two weeks since Nate released the song "Outro" also presumably off his forthcoming album. Whilst "Outro" followed in the style of "Intro 2" and "Intro" before it,  chronicling where NF is at in his life at a given time. "Green Lights" is a song about confidence,  feeling as though there is nothing that stands in one's way. The track is certainly catchy and is classic NF. However with "Motivated" and "Statement" already under his belt and dealing with almost the same subject matter, this might prove to be three songs in three years-three much. Tasha Cobbs Feat. Nicki Minaj: Are Xtians Overreacting?

Image
When 'Break Every Chain' singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard announced that she would be releasing her new album and that it will feature secular artist Nicki Minaj a lot of holy eyebrows were raised.  Now after the songs release many are sceptical, some outright offended, and a handful even have conspiracy theories (Behold The Illuminati is Everywhere!) The song itself titled 'I'm Getting Ready' is more of the usual fare, the "No Frauds" rappers feature though has made it something of an anomaly. But let's not get into the fact that Fred Hammond featured Snoop Dogg, Lecrae featured Ty Dollar Sign and on and on (so it's no surprise really, these Christian /Secular features.) Let's talk about how insecure Christians make themselves look when they communicate the fear that the secular will taint or overwhelm the gospel. Why can't it be the other way around? In the Old Testament God forbade the Israelites from living among and co-existing...

You and Your Daddy Issues

Image
Daddy issues are like secrets, everybody’s got them, and almost no one likes to talk about them. They arise out of a lapse, perversion, or total non-existence of a relationship between a father and his offspring. You’ve heard it said that a loose girl who dates or marries a sugar daddy (old, pot-bellied aristocrat) is merely venting her latent daddy issues. And that a boy or a man who is constantly seeking the love and approval of his peers is due to the insufficiency of the same from his dad.  Psychologically speaking, this is all true, spiritually speaking, you haven’t even scratched the surface yet. But before we get all deep and serious, let’s look at a brief history of Dads shall we? Dads arose out of a need for balance. The woman progenitor nurtured, salved her offspring in a safe, comforting place called home. The male progenitor however, accoutered the offspring, provided him with the tools to survive out there in the wild. The offspring ran to the mother for warmt...

Prayer Warriors vs PRAYerrrrr Warriorrrs!!

Image
There's only one fleeting instance in which I subscribe to Boko Haramic methods, that is when, after a long day at work (IT), I lay my head to rest on my vaguely uncomfortable bed and begin a vaguely uncomfortable pilgrimage into the dream world, only to be awoken by "Alabado shok raba ba ba ba ba gbosh tolo carta GBA DOSH!"-a prayerrr warriorrr. This time it's my neighbour next door, screaming at the top of his lungs through laser thin walls that wouldn't even stifle a whisper talk less of a war cry. He goes on and on like this for no less than 30minutes, divulging to God and the rest of the now disturbed world about the evil serpents after his family, the spirit of poverty troubling him and the cat outside that moonlights as a witch (I may be getting hyperbolic here, but you get the point).  I'm bringing this up, because I'm a believer and I find this grossly irritating, so how would an unbeliever feel? (And the Prayerrrr warriorrr says I don'...

Some Bad Bad Days #1

Image
You see that #1 up there? Next to bad bad days? It signifies that this will be a series. Yeah we're gonna be talking about this quite often, because a bad bad day is something that happens often enough to be significant (and no that is not a curse, it is a statistical fact). Luckily though a fact isn't always the truth. Bad days start off like any other, you wake up, the clouds are in the sky, roots are in the ground, and all sorts of things occupy the space between. But after those initial moments of normalcy, something or a series of somethings happen that throw you off balance and pretty much sets the tone for the rest of your 24hours. It might be something someone says or does (and isn't it interesting? It's never that the Naira is down, or fuel price is up, or that another dozen graves are being dug because of Boko Haram), no, something or someone that pales in comparison to the economy or terrorism trips you up and has you tumbling downhill like Jack. And wh...
